Touching And Beautiful History Of Song: I Have Decided To Follow Jesus

The "simple" hymn, which many Christians have known and cherished for years, has a deep and touching history which the video beautifully tells using photographs, maps and images.

It notes that after revival "swept across Wales" in 1904 — a Welshman moved by his faith traveled to north-eastern India and shared the Gospel with a tribe of "head-hunters" there called the "Garo"

One tribesman and his family received Jesus as Lord, and then shared their faith with others in their tribe.

Then they began to face "persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ."

The tribesman witnessed his wife and children killed by the village chief for their faith — and then chose to give up his own life rather than renouncing Jesus and "the lyrics of the song are based on his last words" to the chief.

The family's unwavering faith, even to their deaths, caused many in the tribe to turn to Jesus — including the chief — and the man's final words became the song of the tribe!
